Our current Drupal components allows for a variety of engaging layouts and design. Additional customization should only be considered for specific business needs or outcomes, and must be signed-off by Fannie Mae’s web team. Below are some factors for you to review to help determine whether your project would be a good fit for additional customization.
Criteria for interactive content
Interactive content can be a great tool but is also resource-intensive to create and maintain. Follow the guidelines below to determine if your project might benefit from this type of content.
Content potentially suited for customization is:
- Time constrained (will not be live for more than a year) and does not need frequent updates.
- Under 700 words.
- A piece of content where the interactive and animated elements of experiential content are essential to the goals of the project.
Content not suited for customization is:
- Evergreen and/or needs regular edits to stay up to date.
- More than 700 words.
- A piece of content that is as effective if created as a Drupal webpage, PowerPoint, or PDF.
Examples:
- Landing page for a campaign or event
- Case studies with a clear marketing objective
- Interactive maps or charts
- Microcontent
Examples:
- Multiple webpages
- Collections of resources/links/job aids
- White papers or other lengthy informational pieces
