Brand Expression
Corporate Templates
The Fannie Mae brand is thoughtfully designed to express our organizational purpose, and every employee plays a pivotal role in upholding brand consistency in our communications. Branded templates make it easy. All employees should use Microsoft templates for PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and Excel sheets, and the email signature template to ensure your emails have the right sign-offs.
Microsoft templates available on Fannie Mae-issued devices
All Microsoft templates are built directly into the Microsoft programs. Always start from a new template document instead of saving over a previous document. This will ensure you are using the most up-to-date template.
How to access templates
- Open the Microsoft desktop application of choice.
- Select File New.
- Choose the appropriate template under the Fannie Mae section.
- Open the template, select Save As, and begin editing with your content.
Do
Apply the appropriate confidentiality label.
Refer to our data visualization guidelines for charts and graphs.
Ensure image copyright is in accordance to use.
Use our brand’s fonts and colors.
Format text with headings and subheads for visual hierarchy.
Don't
Start new documents based on outdated templates.
Introduce new fonts or colors.
Over-animate elements in PowerPoint.
Confidentiality labeling
Confidentiality labels have been determined by the Fannie Mae Privacy Office and are a critical requirement in all your documents. These are automatically applied to your document footers and can be selected from the “Sensitivity” dropdown menu in desktop applications. Instructions are included in each document template. See also the HomeSite confidentiality classification policy page for guidance.
Note: Each template includes a “© 2026 Fannie Mae” copyright notice in the footer or slide master. Please delete this for internal-only documents.
Email signatures
Your email signature reflects professionalism and brand consistency. There is a specific email signature for when you start a new message, and another version for when you reply or forward a message.
Follow the formatting direction and Do’s and Don’ts below. Additional guidance on email etiquette can be accessed on HomeSite, through Brand Center.
