Fannie Mae's approach to social media is platform-specific and designed to take advantage of each platform's strengths and purpose. Our goal is to create clear, concise communication that empowers, informs, guides and assures our audiences.

Platform guidelines

Creative principles outlined on each platform will always be governed overall by existing brand guidelines. This will provide visual consistency across all social channels, while allowing for targeted creative within each.

 

LinkedIn

  • Platform use: Communicating with partners, reaching a B2B audience, sharing thought leadership, and highlighting company culture.
  • Content themes: Company achievements, Fannie Mae business updates, Fannie Mae product highlights, senior-level thought leadership, and partner-specific updates.
  • Prioritize imagery that shows workplace collaboration and reveals a positive, inclusive company culture.

  • Platform use: A real-time content stream for all audiences. It's the ideal platform to share news and events and join a broader conversation.
  • Content themes: Fannie Mae news, updates, events, company achievements.
  • Typography should be center aligned with bold, accented characters for direct and immediate impact with users.

  • Platform use: Sharing relatable, educational content with consumers.
  • Content themes: Homebuyer education, support for homeowners and renters.
  • Choose photography that is relatable and authentic to consumers. Images can be adorned with bold typography, illustration, or iconography.
 

Instagram

  • Platform use: Sharing aspirational content with consumers. Posts should be highly visual that feature striking photography.
  • Content themes: Visual storytelling, homebuyer and renter education and support, notable Fannie Mae events and experiences.
  • Camera angles should vary between intimate compositions to wide-angle views. Images that contain Fannie Mae's primary brand colors natively are preferred.

  • Use this platform for educational purposes and brand awareness.

Note: Fannie Mae does not have a presence on the following platforms: Snapchat, Reddit, and Tik Tok.

Logo placement

Fannie Mae has specific guidelines for where our company logo or symbol is placed in social media images so that the size and location is consistent from platform to platform. The Fannie Mae logo symbol should always be exactly 90 pixels away from the edge of the image composition. Please download and use our logo when generating new images for social media.
